Discovery Of America Before Columbus

By:

Can it be conceivable that prior to Christopher Columbus discovering America, a laird of Scotland beat him to it?

It is possible that a colony was set up on Nova Scotia by Prince Henry St Clair, the Earl of Orkney (Scotland) in 1398. The Sinclair (St Clair) family, from which Prince Henry was descended, was one of the most important families in both England and Scotland during the 14th century. The St Clairs fought during the Norman invasion in 1066 next to William the Conqueror.

It's from a work published in 1558, compiled by Nicol Zeno (a Venetian) and often called the Zeno Narrative that the concept of a colony first appears. Nicol Zeno states to have utilised the correspondence of 2 brothers, Nicol and Antonio Zeno, as the foundation of his work. These letters report that the Zeno brothers voyaged to a New World along with a Scottish prince that they recognized as Zichmni, sometime in the late fourteenth century.

Curiously, it had been a friend of the famous Captain Cook who initially associated Zichmni with Henry St Clair/Sinclair. The very first to validate the Zeno Narrative as genuine was Johann Reinhold Forster in the 1780s.

The credibility of the Zeno Narrative has consequently been strengthened by the absolute wealth of data that had materialised within the last two centuries.

There are many controversial discoveries that provide credence to the hypothesis, such as the Westford knight (a medieval knight etched into a rock) and the Newport Tower (a structure in the northern European form on Rhode Island). These help support the idea that America was initially located well before Columbus.

Likewise of great interest is that you can find carvings of just what look like plant life found only in America within Rosslyn Chapel in Scotland, that was constructed in 1446 by the grand son of Prince Henry St Clair.

Even the local people of Nova Scotia, the Micmac tribe, speak of a white man that sailed from the east, over the ocean to settle in the region. This hero was called Glooscap and he had very similar qualities as Prince Henry. It's also possible that the voyage to the New World was utilizing ships from the old Templar fleet, since there are many links between Prince Henry and the Knights of the Temple.
