Endemic Species
Endemic species are those species that are found only in a particular region in the world. As these species are not widespread, they are considered as endangered species and are of higher concern. There are few species in the Galapagos Islands that are only found on these islands and have followed distinct evolved path in this isolated environment. Some of the species are marine iguanas, fur seals, land iguanas and flightless cormorants.

Native species comprises of those species that are available in their area of origin but are also available in rest of the world. Introduced Species

It comprises of those animals that are being brought by human to these islands. These Islands have goats, donkeys, cattle, cats, dogs, pigs and lots more. These are not part of the Galapagos ecosystem and also have become a threat on the endemic and native species.
