Discover The Power Of Optin Forms And Mini Templates

By:

Those unschooled on the ins-and-outs of Internet marketing and affiliate marketing, the term "opt in form" may be a foreign language. But it, and the term "mini template," doesn't have to be. Nor are they all that hard to conceptualize and put into practice.

To begin with, an optin form is nothing more than a mechanism whereby somebody can elect to participate further in the activity you might be carrying on in a website. Commonly, people will enter at least their email address and a first name on an opt in form. They do this in order to receive something from you, the website owner. Now, you might have a site dedicated to health and fitness, for example, and you have an ebook you'd like to give away. People visiting your site will want this ebook.

The trick in all this is getting them to "give" you something in return for you "giving" them something. In this case, the ebook. And this is where the email and name comes in. Of course, you'll build a nice subscriber list from this "opt in." And the list can be used to further market health and fitness products, for example, to your subscribers later down the road.

Optin forms aren't hard to create or install a pre-built one, and any number of websites and online free articles can show you how. Just remember to keep the form short and sweet, above all else. Nobody on the Internet wants long and complicated, in truth.

So, how to design one? Well, unless you're a skilled HTML or Front Page user, it's best to purchase or use the code given to you by others who have an interest in your success. There are also a number of templates, with the code already embedded, which you can easily put onto your site. Web hosts have them, too, and they generally give them away for little or no charge.

When setting one up, keep in mind (besides keeping it short and sweet, of course), that it should be in a prominent location on your main website. If it's out of the way, there's no point in having it on there, taking up valuable bandwidth. Also, make sure your visitors have a reason to subscribe. For starters, that ebook should be worthwhile. Junk data will quickly lose you visitors. Make sure they know the benefits of subscribing. Five or ten is usually a very good number of benefits to quote, and can generally instill a desire to build a relationship with you.

Mini templates are nothing more than a mechanism to create "mini sites." We mean they're smaller versions of a site within a site, for example. Normally, they're linked from your main website to the mini-site. These templates, usually designed in HTML (Hyper-Text Markup Language) -- though there are thousands of pre-built ones you can install on your site -- can be used as a landing page. This is the place where your site visitor will "land" on the main site, which is the normal purpose for using mini templates.

You might think about using these templates as the way to go on all your affiliate marketing sites. They're a small, but very powerful tool in your marketing toolbox, in actuality. And they'll help you come up with creative mini websites with little or no fuss or any real programming knowledge. You can also purchase these items, or get them for free under certain web hosting agreements, just about anywhere on the Internet.

Taken together, both opt in forms and mini templates can be effective and lucrative tools for any good website entrepreneur. Building a subscriber list is the bread and butter of affiliate marketing. Give your visitors something of value and don't be afraid to ask them for an email in return. Use mini templates to design effective mini websites, which branch off of your main website. Dull and boring definitely isn't the way to go when it comes to the Internet, after all.
