Beginning next year, there are many new cars for 2012 to look forward to. Some of these cars are extremely fast, loaded with extra horsepower. Many are very efficient when it comes to miles per gallon of gas. While none of them are flying cars like in Back to the Future II, they are still futuristic.

One such car to look forward to is the new 2012 Honda Civic. There are a few awesome variants of this automobile - coupe, sedan, one powered completely by natural gas, and hybrid vehicles. Honda promises the newest versions will have motors that will get 40 miles per gallon on the highway. As gas prices go higher and higher, this news is exciting.

Ford's Mustang Boss 302 is another vehicle people can anticipate. It is powerful with a 444 hp engine. This vehicle features many improvements including suspension modifications, adjustable shocks and struts, firmer springs & bushings, bigger anti-roll bars, and stronger brakes. This car is sweet with a shortthrow 6-speed gearbox.

In extremely small vehicles, the Toyota Scion is another thing to look forward to. The car can fit three adult sized humans, and has a space designed just for a child's car seat. The exterior of the car looks pretty cool, a perfect combination of boxy and sleek, but with smooth, rounded edges. The automobile is only 90 hp, but it is expected to get up to 50 miles per gallon on the freeway. This vehicle is only 6.5 feet long, able to fit in any parking space!

If one requires a vehicle with plenty of power, look forward to The Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8. This powerful Jeep has 500 hp coming from its 6.4 L hemi V-8. It will perhaps have an eight speed transmission, and it will be frighteningly fast.

Perhaps one of the more different vehicles out there is the Hyundai 2012 Veloster. This car only has three doors, which is how Hyundai was able to cut down on weight, making this car compact and light weight. There are two doors on the passenger side, and just one on the driver's side. Cutting down on weight makes it have excellent fuel economy at 40 mpg max. It's look, sleek and hexagonal, is both aesthetic and futuristic.

The FT-86 sports car is put out by both Toyota and Subaru. The car will have two versions (one for each manufacturer), and will be very light. The Toyota version will be out first, but will be marketed as a Scion FR-S. The Subaru version won't arrive in the US until mid-2012 at the very soonest, if it comes at all. The horsepower should be around 200 to 250 for both vehicles. It also looks very cute, a sort of sports car meets Battle Star Galactica cylon look.

In January of next year, the 2013 ZL1 will be out. This classically awesome car will pack an extremely high-powered punch, and about 550 HP. Under the hood, you'll see the Cadillac CTS-V's 6.2 L V8. This car will definitely be frighteningly fast, most likely able to go from 0 to 60 in less than five seconds. This is one of the many examples of new cars for 2012 that one can look forward to.
