Discount Porcelain Tile Keep It Clean

By:

Many great retail and wholesale companies provide a wide array of quality flooring products. Discount porcelain tile is a popular product to use in well-trafficked areas and in baths and kitchens. Choosing, selecting, and installing tile is part of the owning tile. Cleaning and maintaining the tile will assure a long and enjoyable life of your tile.

Porcelain and ceramic flooring are essentially the same except for hardness and ability to absorb moisture. With a higher density and lower absorption capability, porcelain is the best choice for floors, outdoor areas, and colder climates. By having a low capacity for holding moisture, this product is less likely to crack than ceramic.

The kitchen is a favorite place to install this durable product. Usually one of the most used areas, the durable product is up to the task of daily use. However, the kitchen is also an area that will have the most spills. Generally easy to clean, this material can benefit from some specific cleaning procedures.

That cup of brewed coffee is usually the first thing that is grabbed for in the morning. Unfortunately, most of the time that groggy grab leaves some drips and puddles on the floor. The brown bean produces a slightly acidic liquid that will require a bit of baking soda and water to pull up and evidence of its existence.

Fruit juice can range from a light color to a dark stain master red or burgundy. A quick wipe up will probably relieve you from any extra steps. Okay, now in the real world, wipe up that hours old stain then mix 1 oz (1 tablespoon) of trisodium phosphate and 16 ounces of hot water, wipe the area. Follow with a rinse of a solution of 16 ounces of water to 3 ounces of bleach.

Bacon, fried chicken, fried potatoes, et al, are absolutely delicious. But, it sometimes comes at a cost. Grease splatters have a mind of their own, seriously. Given a good rolling boil and the splatter can reach dizzying distances. Pull out that trisodium phosphate and mix it with near boiling water. Grab a stiff bristled brush and start scrubbing. Use a natural or plastic bristle not a wire brush like the one used to clean the grill. Put that thinking cap on.

Many homes don't have water softeners so the calcium and soap over time can create a kind of scummy coating on the flooring over time. This can be easily cured by using good old baking soda in warm water. Rinse the floor until the buildup is removed.

In humid climates, mildew may be a problem on some outside applications. Mix 8 ounces of bleach with 16 ounces of water. Wearing gloves apply to the mildew with a sponge. If this does not lift the mildew, a commercial mildew remover may have to be used. Follow the fine printed directions on the container.
