DiSC is a collection of psychological parameters used to measure behavioral patterns of people in different environments. It was originally conceived by William Marston, a physiological psychologist as first proposed in his book Emotions of Normal People. DiSC was later researched and updated by Dr. John Geier and Inscape Publishing at the University of Minnesota.

DiSC is an acronym for Dominance, Influence, Steadiness, and Conscientiousness. These are the four key elements of the quadrant behavioral model. All individuals possess the four personality styles or behavioral traits, but what separates one from another is the extent of influence of the styles.

Dominance relates to power and self-assurance, while Influence characterizes an individuals communication capabilities. Steadiness portrays a personality style which is persistent and Conscientiousness, the last parameter, characterizes an individual who has a high caution factor.

DiSC is used by human resource professionals, consultants, trainers, and organizations across the globe for various purposes such as recruitment, assessment, coaching, teambuilding, leadership development, and many other applications.

DiSC explores the four dimensions of human behavior and categorizes people into distinct types, typically referred to as Styles. It identifies the strong points and weaknesses of individuals providing recruiters and organizations with vital information.

Recruiters, trainers, coaches, and managers analyze these traits and sub-traits to understand various individual behavioral patterns, which help organizations to build teams that are focused, motivated, and productive.

Aside from creating and maintaining a balanced team, the DiSC online test helps build a congenial environment or workplace by selecting the right people. Armed with prior knowledge through the DiSC online test, recruiting work becomes easy. Recruiters can look forward to a team that is cordial, productive, and vibrant.

Managers may use this information to train employees, allocate appropriate tasks and look into their grudges rationally and without prejudice. It not only creates a matured and balanced workforce, but also helps in recognizing leadership traits in some individuals who might one day serve as replacements.

The Personality test offers managers the ability to nourish an employees strong points and allocate tasks which complement their capabilities. The tests helps managers build teams that are communicative, tolerant, and focused.

A personality test aims at disclosing a persons character by analyzing their behavior and reaction to various situations, and their feelings towards certain issues. It clearly displays how that person might face a problem and their overall approach to finding the right solution.

Personality models are not new, but over time the models have evolved. And today, they have been completely redefined. The current system identifies various personality types with the help of human psychology.

These tests reveal individuals in a different light. One model can identify specific characteristics of an individual, while another may seek to identify personality as a whole.
