Digestion In The Small Intestine

Carbohydrate is the main nutrient to provide immediate fuel to your body if you are moving at moderate to high intensity but, if your heart rate is less than 50% below your maximum heart rate, you will know that your intensity levels are low enough for fat to provide the fuel you need, usually being able to sustain you over a period of days. If, during that time, you suddenly start to exercise which vigorously, the metabolism of carbohydrate will take over again, with its very limited stores of ATP but its very efficient release of energy. This carbohydrate which has been stored in your liver as glycogen can usually provide sufficient fuel for up to two hours of medium to high intensity exercise. As the carbohydrates get used up, fatigue sets in really rapidly but, equally, can be restored quickly with isotonic drinks and glucose tablets. Easily digestible carbohydrates are essential if you dont want to conk out! Todays very useful information you get almost 20 times the amount of energy per gram of carbohydrates when aerobic metabolism occurs than when carbohydrates are metabolised in anaerobic conditions.

How does that help me, I hear you ask? Well, you want to know how to lose weight fast, dont you? It makes far more sense if you understand how to lose weight yourself instead of relying on all sorts of other weird and wonderful interpretations. If you are following a weight loss program it makes sense to me if you know why you are doing something rather than just follow the rules blindly. After all, it is the metabolising of fat the burning of stored body fat that is called ketosis. It is the process of ketosis that is at the fundamental root of diets such as the Atkins Diet and Lighterlife, to mention just two. Slimming World, with its red and green days, depends on how nutrients are metabolised and other weight loss programs are much the same.

Nearly all fat loss remedies are based on limiting the amounts of one food group or another food group, usually fats or carbohydrates both for similar reasons. For instance, the group of foods known as lipids [fats and oils] consist of two different molecules. These are fatty acids and glycerol. Fats are always absorbed inside your small intestine. The pancreas produces digestive juices and it is in here that the fat-breaking enzyme, lipase is found. This breaks down the fat molecules into the fatty acids on one side and the glycerols on the other side, break the bonds before the fatty molecules are absorbed in the small intestine.
