Different Ways To Take The Act And Sat Prep Test

By:

An American College Testing (ACT) prep test is an important step in preparing for the ACT. Although not required, an ACT prep test is recommended to ensure a passing grade. ACT prep tests are available through testing centers, tutoring, online classes, high schools, or can be self-administered. This also applies to those preparing for the Scholastic Aptitude/Assessment Test (SAT).

Testing centers who administer the actual ACT test can also facilitate preparations for the test. Students can enroll in test prep courses on a one-on-one basis, or attend group classes with other students. The former is relatively expensive, so the latter is preferred by most students. These testing centers usually hire individuals who themselves had excellent ACT or SAT scores to ensure that the students learn from people who have already mastered the test.

While most students prefer to go to test centers everyday for their test prep class, other students choose to hire private tutors. Tutoring is individualized and can be done at home or at the tutors office. Retired teachers and students currently pursuing their graduate degrees most often are hired as tutors. Tutoring fees may depend either on the number of hours spent per day or the number of prep sessions needed by the student before taking the test.

If taking classes at testing centers and hiring tutors do not work for you, then an online prep test can be your option. There are hundreds, even thousands of websites offering online SAT prep course for students every year. Questions that are similar to the actual test can be accessed through enrolling in online test prep courses offered on ACTs and SATs official websites.

Aside from taking an online SAT prep course, students can also prepare for the test at their own schools. There are many high schools in the United States offering SAT and ACT prep classes to their students after school or during weekends. Parents can always speak to the high school principal for further information regarding SAT and ACT prep courses.

An equally popular option for test prep is to use ACT test prep software. Such test prep software can be downloaded for free or purchased from a number of online vendors. Most ACT or SAT test prep software solutions use the same technology as the official ACT or SAT test to simulate the actual test-taking experience.
