There are many different types of jobs in the employment market today, ranging from the part time to fulltime, permanent and casual. The needs of an individual person are essential in dictating the kind of employment opportunity that will be suitable for that person. This article studies the different forms of employment and discusses the people who will be suitable to carry the same work out.

Full time employment: These jobs takes the majority of the active hours of the individual, usually from 8 am in the morning to 5 pm in the evening, but with an allowance of an hour for lunch or other social activities. Most people prefer this job type, as they spend most of the time in the work place and in the evening get back to their families. This is ideal for most working families, because it allows for nights, evenings and weekends with family while providing a good source of income.

Part time employment: This form of employment is mainly done in shifts. Some jobs require a 24 hours attendance; in such a case part time jobs are usually created. Part time begins from 5 pm in the evening and runs to 11 pm in the night, but may even at times extend up to the morning. The jobs which require such an attendance includes nursing, patrol, security and to some extent journalism. People who prefer to take this shift are mainly family people who have children or spouse who work during the day. This allows for the demands of the house during the day while allowing them to work at night.

Permanent employment: With this type of job, the employer cannot very easily terminate the services of an employee. The employee is entitled to a severance pay when such a termination is done. The other main characteristic of this type of job is that it involves payments done within the 12 periods of the year in a regular manner.

Casual employment: This will be the final type of job to be considered under the jobs section. Casual employment may be referred to as temporary employment as well. The monetary rewards for this type of employment is no longer the salary, but is now called wages. There are no benefits made available to these individuals from the organization. They can be dismissed at any time and typically do not work for more than two months in any particular organization. This is ideal for someone looking to get into an organization full time or likes constant change in their surroundings.

These job types are meant to describe the different types in their general forms. The responsibilities of each are as unique as the position and company themselves. The job market is a constantly changing landscape forcing employers and employees to evolve how they view jobs to best fit the needs of the company and individual.
