Different Types Of Designer Radiators In The Uk

By:

Designer radiators come in all shapes and sizes these days and in the UK we have seen their popularity grow over the last few years. With more people choosing to stay in their home and update it rather than moving, adding a designer radiator can really transform any room, but which type is best for you?

Gone are the days of little choice and bog standard radiators. These days you can purchase a designer one that fits in with your own personal style, whether you prefer sleek and contemporary or something more traditional. Whether your aim is just to save space or to create a centrepiece to stir conversation, you can pretty much find one to suit.

Which type?

Heating is very important in the UK. We have long, cold winters and our radiators have to work hard, so just purchasing a showpiece that doesn't do a very good job of heating up your rooms doesn't make sense. You do need to invest in the right product to ensure you get the right balance between functionality and style.

There are lots of different types to choose from and it would be impossible to cover them all, but hopefully this will help:

Centrepiece Radiators - these are high fashion pieces that are meant to cause a stir and create conversation. They also tend to be the most expensive type. If you are looking for one, make sure you really like it as it will probably be in your home for a long time. It is quite a new concept in the UK, but one which is gaining in popularity.

Towel Radiators - otherwise known as towel rails. There are a large number of these on the market in the UK, but watch out as some that are said to be designer radiators aren't, so check the output before purchase to make sure that it isn't just for show!

Modern Radiators - these radiators aren't quite as attention grabbing as the centrepiece radiators, but they are modern, often available in a range of sizes and sometimes colours. Chrome is the most popular UK choice at the moment.

Re-makes - these are basically modern designer radiators made to look like they were made a long time ago. Very popular in the UK as there are so many period properties here, they look fantastic. The difference from the originals is that they are much more efficient and can actually work out cheaper.

These are just a few of the types of designer radiators available in the UK, so we advise doing your homework before you make your choice. The right designer radiator can bring you years of pleasure, both aesthetically speaking and from a functional point of view.
