People all over the world suffer from the disorder.

The treatment with laser is so good that more than half of the patients gets their hair back in less than six months. No really good treatment is total available apart from laser treatment. They have recently discovered some new genes and their function for immune diseases. There are some strong medications that have shown to keep a balance off the hair loss cortisone being the standard choice. But as soon as the patient stops using the medication the hair keeps falling off again.

There are also some negative side effects to cortisone so this treatment can not be used for too long. So what we are hoping for is more of a spontaneous bettering of hair growth more than a permanent one. In severe cases the patients will have to use wigs or toupees. The only scientifically proven treatment in serious cases of alopecia areata is DCP-treatment (difenylcyklopropenon). This is a immune modulating treatment where the patients will be exposed to the impact of difenylcyklopropenon and then gets the drug painted in the scalp under strict supervision and control.
