Different Components Of Outsourcing

By:

Outsourcing is defined as obtaining services from offshore businesses. It is relative to distributing the less important aspects of businesses to a third party. In this light, a clear definition of outsourcing refers to a contract or arrangement of a company to another company relative to in-house tasks.

There are various services that can be obtained from offshore outsourcing companies. This can include IT support services for clients, telemarketing, manufacturing, order processing, customer support and more. They are composed of office workers whose performance are based individually. It is noticeable that these services are truly less important but should not be neglected as well for the benefit of the company.

There are two known types of outsourcing, the Business process outsourcing(BPO) and Knowledge Process Outsourcing (KPO). BPO was established in the mid-1990's and has greatly evolved with the growth of Internet. Most services obtained from such industry include handling business activities for clients.

Other BPO services that are being utilized by most companies to date includes Back office functions, IT help desk services, accounting services, human resource services, customer support services, telemarketing, database management, web development, content writing, market research, manufacturing and more.

In terms of KPO, it is relative to outsourcing services from a team of skilled, experts and professionals of a certain aspect of the business. It has a wider scope of services as compared to BPO since it can include such services from their criteria along with Analysis Process Outsourcing (APO) and Research Process Outsourcing (RPO). The common services offered in KPO are animation ans simulation services, intellectual property research, business and technical analysis, litigation services, research and development, learning solutions, medical services, data analysis, network management, software development and more.

These components of outsourcing have been known to provide the following benefits for businesses. Primarily, it enables businesses to have more time and focus for far important aspects of the management and operation lines. Moreover, it allows the company to have lesser management cost since it eliminates the need to maintain several in-house staff which is indeed costly in terms of training and benefits compliance. It is also a great alternative to acquire specialized services or skills that may be required only on occasional basis.

Outsourcing also improves the implementation of demand management and other support operations of a business. In this light, it can be assured that there would be better process management and efficient delivery of required services. Handling customer support can be tad time-consuming.
