Diet and exercise combined is the best way to maintain a healthy and youthful body. Listen to a nursery rhyme by Wayne Fields:

1. Sunshine, water, air, rest, exercise and diet. The first three are given to us by nature. The last three, we have to manage ourselves. This doesn't seem to be difficult.

In fact, rest is easy. You only have to get enough sleep in a day - that is about 6-8 hours a day - to get enough sleep.

2. A good diet. There are diet teas, pills, shakes and food supplements nowadays. Yet, normal programmed diet is still the best. Buy yourself a crate of fruits and vegetables. You can eat these whenever you are hungry.

Steam the vegetables before eating except the carrots which you can eat raw. Cut on carbohydrates, it's not good for the heart. Take meat for protein just enough cuts, not too much during full meals.

Eating too much may sometimes mean depression especially for women. Avoid doing this; you can always consult a specialist to avoid further problems of obesity.

3. Fitful exercise. Exercise can be done every day by walking early in the morning. But if you don't have the time, you can schedule your exercise twice or three times a week.

Studies show that you can make exercises before going to sleep at night. There are programs for stretching and repeated body movements for better blood circulation.
