Did You Play A Role In The Fire That Burned Your Home

By:

This may sound a little strange to begin with, but all across America today a good percentage of the fires that happen are caused by our own self negligence and lack of fire and safety prevention. There are hundreds of homes that are destroyed each year because of this. One of the most common factors is storing some flammable liquid in the wrong area where it can be ignited into a raging fire.

Storing flammable liquids too close to the home or in an attached garage is not safe at all when it comes to the safety of your home and family. If you do not have a shed or small building that is at least 30 feet from your home, is not considered to be safe in the event of an explosion of the flammable liquids. Losing a storage building is one thing, but our home is our castle and if these type materials are stored to close to the home, this may be the fire that you can not get put out. When the fire department responds, hopefully it will be in time to save what is left of your home in this type of explosion and fire.

Another strong contributor to fires negligence has to do with matches being left or stored where a minor child can get to them and experiment with fire and their experiment will usually prove to be successful in most cases. Children seem to have a knack for succeeding in things they are not supposed to. If you are a smoker, leaving your cigarette lighter lying on the coffee table or anywhere a child can get it could be a bad mistake. When you go to bed at night, you might not think about the little one that just started sleeping in their own bed, who might just be up during the middle off the night exploring most anything they can get into, including that lighter you left out. Many times fires are started in just such a way and many families have lost loved ones because of negligence.

Although there are a lot of ways to start a fire, these two methods are surely two too stay away from in the future. People who do not practice fire prevention safety are the ones that at some point in time end up being victimized by this kind of tragedy. There are many ways to prevent fires from being started by your own negligence and teaching young ones about fire early on and storing flammable liquid where it belongs play a big part in fire prevention.
