This may damage blood vessels and internal organs. It can increase the likelihood of stress. Individuals suffering from stress tend to overeat in order to find relief.

Now that we know some of the ill-effects of stress, we need to practice optimism in all aspects of our life. Learn to say 'no' if you cannot cope with the demands of your work and other activities. It may cause you to become overworked and tired. Have regular exercise as it can lead to the release of chemicals called endorphins, which are natural stress agents. Learning the art of yoga and meditation is helpful in relieving stress.

Moreover, you need to practice effective communication and assert yourself. When you are in charge of individuals in your work, learn how to delegate responsibility. Do not burden yourself with tasks that you can delegate to other people. Set your priorities straight. Avoid caffeinated drinks such as colas, tea, and coffee.

Take occasional breaks from your work. Take a walk or indulge in outdoor activities such as gardening or sports. Having enough sleep and a massage can help reduce stress. Reward yourself for accomplishing tasks.
