Menswear is long-awaited among ladies. Not merely because we obtain to gaze at a lot of gentlemen, wearing garments on a runway, but also for the reason that we get to start off planning our boyfriends outfit for next season, in this manner ensuring it co-ordinates with ours. SO lets start arranging what the menfolk are going to be donning for Spring-Summer 2012.

Ponder on your boyfriends clothing for a second: is there one solitary patterned item in it? Only not counting a Breton T-shirt or check shirt. Exactly. Okay, for Spring-Summer 2012 season menswear collection creators have gotten over their allergy to all features decorative with D&G showcasing Italian scarf-style prints on shorts and shirts, at the same time as Donatella Versace harked back to Versace fashion house's 90s zenith with gallant, bright poppy patterns on summer jerseys and bathing shorts. Kim Jones first appearance for Louis Vuitton fashion house was peppered with crimson and pink checkerboard, and at Burberry Prorsum Christopher Bailey presented chunky tribal inspired replicas in dirty shades. Even Giorgio Armani, emperor of pared-down neutral cool got in on the act with a chequerboard jumper. Right away, if Armani is doing pattern, your boyfriend has no reason not to wear it.

Great news for girls looking for some back-up in getting their boyfriends out of eight-year old jeans: elegant is in. At McQueen, Marc Jacobs and Gucci fashion collections for Spring-Summer 2012 season the emphasis was on slimly tailored looks that will look perfect when he takes you out somewhere very-very high-priced.

Yellow was certainly the paint of the second last week, with a wide range of hues from fisherman to mustard on display. Roberto Cavalli, habitually, went all-out with a slim-cut mustard outfit, whereas Christopher Bailey at Burberry Prorsum kept it faintly more wearable with free funnel neck pullovers and huge double breasted coatigans. Sarah Burton at Alexander McQueen staged a Jagger-eque collection of slim 60s suiting as well as an amazing mustard coat.

Both Kim Jones and Alistair Carr made their menswear first appearance this week for Louis Vuitton and Pringle respectively, with Carr receiving rave reviews for his reimagining of the classic Pringle knitwear. Kim Jones showcased tailored looks with a feel of marine, in navy white and grey, and over on the Vivienne Westwood catwalk, Andreas Kronthaler stepped up to take a bow with his wife at the end of the menswear show for the first time, with Vivienne.

Every several seasons, menswear collection designers, who are seemingly bored to tear with their limited alternative for below the belt outfit, decide that this will be the season that male skirts really catch on for people other than Marc Jacobs and, very rarely, Robbie Williams. For Spring-Summer 2012 menswear, Givenchy, Yohji Yamamoto and Thom Browne have decided that skirts are the piece for next season. Gentlemen universally will, just about indeed, dispute.
