Designer Fashion Accessories Are Being Recycled From Old Designs

By:

Designers love coming up with new and bold ideas. From designer shoes for women to fashion handbags, there are a lot of bold and beautiful new ideas out there. But often designer fashions are pulled from old decades. We see a lot of trends get recycled from old decades, and this year is no different.

As far as designer fashions and head wear, there's quite a bit of old school going on. Turban, for one, are really big this spring and summer. They were first seen in the 1920s and then later in the 1970s. They are popping up again now, paired with light summer dresses or even evening cocktail sheath dresses. It takes a very confident woman to pull this look off but if you can, it'll be a very on trend choice.

Head scarves in general are back as well, and not just in the 1950s style of wearing them while you do house work. They are a way to keep the hair back and out of the face in the warm weather when you enjoy a picnic in the park or a day out shopping.

Those fancy, pinned hats you saw many guests of the royal wedding attend are called fascinators. These originated back in the 1920s, often headpieces seen as part of the flapper style. They are now often worn at special events at night and are also referred to as cocktail hats. They gained popularity in the past couple of years but now after the royal wedding they are sure to really blow up.

When it comes to designer shoes for women, the "flatform", as it's affectionately called, has made it's way into Summer 2011 look books. A flat wooden platform with no heel or arch, it's a style derived from the 70s that promotes comfort while adding height. It's not a look for everyone, but is a better alternative for those who don't want to wear super high wedges or heels just for a few extra inches.

Mod style is huge as well, which is dress from the 50s and 60s. Modern designer fashions are taking the shape of these dresses and making them a little more current in pattern and function. But the capped sleeves, pinned in waists and longer length skirts are everywhere.

It always makes you think that holding on to some older pieces may actually be a good idea. In another few years, they could be in style again before you know it.
