What you see - Om Creations, located opposite Grand Bay Hotel in Vizag, is being run by one of the citys well known socialites and social workers, Jeeja Valsraj since 2006. This fashion studio does not have impressive exteriors as Jeeja says she prefers to maintain a low profile. The collection inside therefore, takes us aback. In terms of interiors, there are two divisions - one where the stitching and designing are done and the other where craftsmen carry out embroidery work.

What you get - Om Creations is a womens boutique where both readymade and custom-designed garments are available. These include designer sarees, blouses, salwar suits and lehenga cholis apart from western wear like skirts, evening gowns, party dresses etc.

If you wish to get a custom-designed saree done, just share your ideas on the fabric, color and the kind of work (embroidery) you require, along with your budget. Om Creations will get that done along with a well-designed blouse, within a months time. The variety of work that can be done here includes kundan work, patch work, beads, sequins, mirror, brocade, cutdana (fine cylindrical beads), stone work, piping and zari work etc. These could start from Rs. 1,000 and go upwards of Rs. 20,000 based on the work. Similarly, you can get this done on lehenga cholis and salwar suits by skilled handloom artisans from West Bengal.

This boutique also sells stitched and semi stitched cotton and silk heavy work (party wear) salwar suits of latest designs like kali cut, A-line cut etc (Rs. 1,000-5,000). There is also a good range of sarees readily available. These include kota, georgette, crepe, chiffon etc for Rs. 2,500 to even Rs. 25,000. All the sarees, dress materials and stitched suits are sourced from Mumbai, Delhi and Kolkata.

If western wear is what you are looking for, you can get gowns, tops, skirts and short dresses stitched here as well.
