Describing A Solar Panel And Its Use

By:

A solar panel is used in the process of obtaining an alternative energy source into your home or business. When you are looking for an alternate energy source you will need to consider installing some form of solar panel. Typically solar panels will be installed on the roof of a business, home, office, industrial building, farm, barn or it may be a stand alone unit which is installed on a pole that is fixed to the ground. When you are thinking about this type of alternate energy you will also need to give some thought as to who will perform the actual installation.

A solar panel is a panel which is made up of layers which then absorbs solar power which is the sunlight that then hits or lands on then goes through this panel. The make up of this panel is in several layers. This type solar energy has been in use since the 1950s but as time has passed this type of alternate energy has improved. A couple of decades ago the panels were huge and often were placed on the home so that that they were very visible and as technology has improved the manufacture of these panels they do come in smaller sizes. This improvement is also due to increased use of smaller components so that the panels can also be made smaller just as the entire electronics environment into smaller and more efficient pieces.

A panel that absorbs sunlight is actually made in layers. There are many different companies in the world who specialize in manufacturing thee panels so there is a wide choice available. The choices will vary by actual size and voltage and also by the amount of sunlight it can absorb which is calculated in wattage or watts or kilowatt hours which may be written as kWh.

Actual sunlight is made up of protons which are small particles of energy and these protons have to be absorbed into one of the panels created to absorb this type of energy then the protons have to be converted into household energy which is actually converted into electricity but the electricity is not delivered from your power company but instead from one of these panels created to absorb the sunlights powerful rays.

These solar systems can be totally independent which can be considered as totally green in terms of the earths renewable resources to some combination of solar systems which share other forms of power sources such as a battery or combined with an electric grid that comes from your power supplier which you will then receive an electric bill for the wattage usage. The purpose of combining two or more energy sources is to limit the electric usage from the electric company during periods of expected high use which is generally in the hot summer months when there is the most sunlight. Using the sunlight into a solar energy system can reduce electric company generated usage during peak hours and substitute it with the energy converted from the suns rays.
