Depicting Suzukis History Of Excellence By Showcasing Innovative Suzuki Parts

By: Anthony Fontanelle

It was clever for Suzuki to carry The Way of Life slogan. Such a simple message of how each Suzuki vehicle must be part of everyones way of living. It could be a necessity, a need, or a desire. The history of Suzuki, nearing centennial on year 2009, maybe the reason why such slogan is adapted to depict how Suzuki influenced the peoples way of life. From the break-though pedal-driven wooden loom of 1909 which the founder of Suzuki, Michio Suzuki, had innovated to its motorcycles and vehicles to the latest Suzuki models, precision designed Suzuki parts were used.

The first name of the company was Suzuki Loom Manufacturing Company, which was wrecked during the post-war chaos. The successor of Michio, his son Shunzo Suzuki, took over the business. Seeing how an affordable transportation becomes a great necessity in Japan, Shonzu designed a unique motor that is attached to bicycles. This design became a great hit allowing the company to step up to another level. This gave way to the establishment of its new name as the Suzuki Motor Co. Created the very first lightweight car in Japan called the Colleda or also known as the Suzulight. This showcased avant-garde Suzuki parts and was mass-produced by the company to cater every customers needs.

It was not until in the later years of 1983 that Suzuki Motor Co. focused on four-wheel drive vehicles. This time, it was the 3rd president Jitsujiro Suzuki followed by Osama Suzuki who led the manufacturing of cars. They brought the Suzuki automobile line in the United States. Suzuki, with premium Sizuki parts, became a blast in the US even only on its first year. This is because, at that time, the Americans were looking for a sporty yet practical means of transportation. This was the perfect timing for Suzuki to introduce SUVs and 4x4 vehicles that are appealing to the American clientele.

What makes Suzuki a common household name is its effort in extending its goals. It was Osama, the then president of Suzuki who believed that the company must commit a firm social responsibility of enriching the lives of the people. It prompted the company to develop cars that are not only practical but also economical and environmental friendly. Hence, Suzukis slogan does not only beget plain words but its essence carried.
