What to do for Dental Emergencies?

According to a survey conducted by the Majestic Drug Company, most Americans are not prepared for dental emergencies.

The most common Dental Emergencies are:

* Knocked out tooth.

* Mouth pain.

* Lost filling.

* Cracked or broken denture.

* Dislodged cap/crown.

* Irritation from Braces.

According to the company, here are some temporary solutions for dental emergencies.

If your natural tooth is knocked out, try to gently replace it. Do not try and clean it. If it does not fit easily back in place, put it in some milk, and visit your dentist right away.

* If you have mouth pain, the best solution is to first consult with your dentist, as it maybe a sign or something more serious. If you have sensitive teeth, there are tooth pastes which can help with this. There are also over the counter numbing gels for mouth sores.

* If you loose a filling, rinse out the cavity with warm water. Apply a temporary filling product, like Dentemp O.S., and press firmly into the cavity.

* If you crack your dentures, try one of the readily available repair kits, until you can speak with a dentist.

* If you dislodge your crown, or cap, apply a temporary holding product, and replace the crown/cap on the base of your natural tooth.

* If you have irritation from braces, there are special waxes which can help. All of these emergency dental care products are generally available at your local drug store.

* These are only temporary dental repair solutions. For any dental emergency, be sure to seek the advice of your dentist as soon as possible. If you don't have a local dentist, you can find a dentist on freedentistfinder.com
