The name Tapkeshwar itself suggests the theme of the temple which means water droplets originating from a rock continuously fall on the Shivling enshrined in the shrine. This temple can be visited throughout the year but the best time to visit this is on the occasion of Shivratri.
Robber's Cave:

It is located 8 km from Dehradun just beyond the Anarwala village. This is a fabulous picnic spot which is known for its serene, scenic and calm ambiance. It is among the most visited destinations of this place where people go to enjoy peace and solitude with nature. Here one can see the strange natural phenomena where a stream of water goes underground and reappears after few meters away.
Sahastradhara:

Located 14 km from the city, it is one of the most sought after destinations of this place. This is a famous picnic spot which is known for its immense natural beauty of river, caves, forests and foaming waterfall. The most famous attraction of this place is sulphur spring which is known for its therapeutic properties. People from far off places come here to enjoy the scenic beauty. Along with this they take dip in sulphur spring in order to rejuvenate their body, mind and soul.

Dehradun is a gateway to the popular hill station of Mussoorie and the several pilgrimage centers of Haridwar and Rishikesh which makes it an important tourist destination of Uttrakhand region. Some of the other well known attraction of this place are Laxman Siddh, Malsi Deer Park,Lachhiwala,Santala Devi Temple, Rajaji National Park and many more.
