Definitely Wear Mbts For Comfort And Pain Relief

I love my MBT Footwear. I have been wearing MBTs for about 6 months now and can't say enough good things about them. I now have three pairs. The first two are the classic thicker soled style. Thanks to Shopmbtfootwear.com, I was able to get a great discount on those. Still, they were the most expensive shoes I'd ever purchased.

I have one pair in a Mary Jane style (Lami) and one sandal style (Kisumu). After falling in love with those for daily wear (work and play), I decided to purchase a pair specifically for exercising. When I saw the Fora in my favorite shade of blue, I decided to splurge (even more) and go for the newer slimmer style. Paying full price for these was painful, but ultimately worth it.

The experience of wearing these shoes is different from both the original MBTs and "normal" shoes. The rocking motion of the MBTs is still present but not as pronounced. They look and feel more like regular shoes than my other pairs. The biggest difference between these and the older style is not the hight so much as the sole width. There is definitely more "lateral instability" here.

While the older rocker-style are the same width through the arch, the sole of these is more hourglass shaped. I have a history of rolling my ankles so this was of some concern to me but I have had no problems with that in these or any of my MBT styles. I bought these mostly for MBT comfort and to motivate myself to exercise more. I wanted something that would inspire me to walk more and prevent the knee pain I often experience when walking a lot. Check and check.

However, I was initially skeptical about whether this lower sole would "work" like the older MBTs. I find that the older style works my calves a good bit and provides a wonderful amount of cushioning. These are less focused on my calves and I wondered if they weren't a bit overrated... Then I wore them for a long day of walking around. They "work" like you would not believe!

Normally, after a day on my feet on hard floors, I experience soreness and swelling in my knees and sometimes pain in my hip, back as well. Just like with my other MBTs, I don't have those problems with these. With the others, I feel they work my calves a good bit and my thighs a bit, especially in the front. These feel like they work the whole leg (and rear) more evenly and surprisingly work my inner thighs a lot!

Definitely wear MBTs for comfort and pain relief but the toning benefits are a bonus, plus the shoes make me want to walk a lot more. As far as style, the Foras are much lighter and less clunky than the older MBTs. They're actually pretty sleek looking and everyone loves them. I get tons of compliments on how great they look. The blue is a beautiful color and really eye-catching in a very good way. These aren't just "cute, for MBTs"... they are really good looking shoes. The only thing I don't like about these shoes is the laces. They are too short and stiff. Hard to tie and come untied very easily. I plan to switch them out soon. Otherwise, super awesome shoes! I usually wear a US 8 in regular shoes. In these and other closed-toe MBTs, I wear a 39.
