Deep Fitted Sheets

I want to tell you a story about when I had to buy some new sheets for my bed. What started out as a simple task led to a bit of a nightmare. I don't want you to have to go through the same thing as me and that is why I want to tell my deep fitted sheets story.

Before I re-live my nightmare, I want to let you know why I got involved with buying bed sheets and why I wouldn't know anything about deep fitted sheets. I live with my girlfriend who I would describe as a 'shopaholic'. She does all the shopping and my only involvement is usually to try and stop her spending money. However, now she is pregnant and it means that I have to help out more and this is how I got involved.

Now I think that you would agree with me that this should be an easy task that should be over with very quickly. I went to the shops and bought a similar looking colour to the one we had. I made sure that it was for a double bed and even went a bit further and went for organic sheets.

I decided that it would be a nice surprise for my girlfriend if I changed our old sheets and put the new set on. Another easy task I thought but no matter how I tried I just couldn't get the new set on. The sheets were just too small even though they were for a double bed. They weren't big enough for the mattress.

I was still in the middle of it when my girlfriend came home. She told me that I was an idiot and asked how I was going to get these sheets on when the mattress needed deep fitted sheets. I asked how I was supposed to know that and said that she told me that at the beginning.

Now if you don't want to return the sheets back to the shop in exchange for some deep fitted sheets (like me!), I would advise that you check the depth of your mattress before you go shopping.
