It is such a fantastic time when a student heads out to live in their first college dormitory room and as parents we want nothing but the best for our prospective student. Obviously, sending a son or daughter off to school is anything but cheap and by the time you are done paying for tuition, meal plans, and books and supplies you probably are hoping to be done with your college expenditures. It might seem easier to allow your student to go out and choose their dorm room items themselves however doing so will probably cost you a fortune and you might find that even going to a local retailer will not help you get everything you need. After all, most companies actually only carry a very small collection of dormitory room items during the months of August and September and then eliminate these items for another year.

It may be difficult to think back on when you were in college or just starting out but it is very important make certain that you provide your student with everything they need to keep them comfortable and happy. The more creature comforts they have the more comfortable they will likely be as they make their transition to dorm room life. The easier they make the transition the more likely that they'll make a success out of their higher education and their lives.
