Decorate With Led Lights For The Holiday Or Year Round

By:

In the last few years LED lights have turned up in stores just before Christmas. While they were the new rage a couple of years ago, they were nearly universal this year. The reasons: they are safer, offer greater flexibility in colors and are cheaper to use.

Of course, just because LED strands are only available in stores during the winter doesnt mean you should only use them then. Here are a few suggestions.

Traditional Holiday Lighting

Everyone enjoys seeing the lights go up right after Thanksgiving. Colorful and fun, they light up the short winter nights with a bit of whimsy and joy. Because LED bulbs can cycle rapidly, this year dripping icicle lights appeared all over. The consume up to 90% less energy than their incandescent predecessors, and they stay cool, making them perfect for trees that dry out while indoors, reducing the fire hazard.

If you arent sure that the investment in these more expensive lights is worth your money; consider the following. LED light strands continue to work even if a bulb is burned out so you dont have to check each bulb, and they last for 25,000 hours. If your electric bill skyrocketed during the holiday season last year, these will help you tame the beast.

Beautiful Bedroom Lighting

Who says that the only way to light up a bedroom at night is with a nightlight? Why not hang a string of small LED lights across your childs ceiling? The bulbs remain cool, so they are safe enough to use around children. Make sure any cords are tucked away safely and create a star-filled sky indoors.

Patio Perfection

If you enjoy sitting out on the patio while preparing a barbeque or just talking after dark you will find that a couple of LED strands can perfect the mood. The light is bright enough to see by but gentle enough not to be intrusive. Just because the box implies it is for use at Christmas doesnt mean you cant use it all year round.

LED bulbs come in numerous colors, both on strands and individually. Its time to think outside of the box and find some fun uses for these lovely lights.
