Deccan Odyssey A Memorable Experience By Indian Railways

This was among one of the most memorable and enriching experience of my life when I started my journey by Deccan Queen. Here with the help of this article would like to share my experience about the Deccan Queen.

The Maharashtra Tourism Development Corporation in association with Indian Railways has launched the super deluxe luxury train The Deccan Odyssey in the year 2004. The main objective of running this train is to promote tourism in Maharashtra like Konkan Coast, its art, handicraft, wildlife, etc. It is most luxurious trains which reflect the Indian Royalty in every sight. The week long journey will take you to the magnificent forts, serene beaches, royal palaces and many more places which you will discover during journey.

Undoubtedly, the journey will take you into the new world from where you feel the serene beauty of nature in different way. The train starts from Mumbai on ever Wednesday between October to April. It is a seven days tour which covers Sindhudurg, Goa, Kolhapur, Aurangabad, Chandrapur, Wardha, Jalgaon and Nashik. The visit to these cities will showcase a unique blend of culture and history. During this visit the major sights will be Goa beaches, Mahalaxmi Temple in Kolhapur, the worlds heritage sites Ajanta & Ellora known for the frescoes, Tadoba Wildlife Sanctuary, ancient temples and many other sites.

It is one of the best luxurious train which has 11 passenger coaches, 2 dining cars, 1 bar lounge, Conference lounge, etc. Not only this, but the Deccan Odyssey also have mini gym with spa facilities to make yourself relaxed. The in house pantry of the train provides the delicious food from Indian to Continental. One can travel while enjoying food and wine along with the sightseeing.

Now if you are planning to book a ticket for the odyssey then go ahead and plan as per your schedule. You can book as per occupancy requirement. It provides private cabins; twin bedded cabins, triple bedded cabins and deluxe suites. These cabins are attached with the washrooms, provide intercom facility and train attendants. You can enjoy the extravagant journey of Deccan Odyssey by paying $ 300 to $ 750.

You can book your tickets online and get all the details of journey. Your ticket cost will include everything from train fare to food facility and other facilities as well. You have to pay extra only in case you avail spa services or order non alcoholic drinks.
