When a flood comes, it causes huge amounts of dangerous waters to flood your towns, homes, and buildings. The force of the water can knock down power lines, which can cause electrical currents to flow through it. This is very dangerous for anyone to be in or near the water. It can have gas and other chemicals in it that is harmful to use, and this stuff can get in your homes and building. The floodwater can take down houses and it can cause mudslides.

The water can have debris in it that you can get hurt by and some of the debris you might not even see. The debris can be really sharp and it can be in big or small pieces. The water moves fast and can pull you down under the water, which can cause you to drown. It can cause people to become trapped on their houses, in or on their car, and people can have injures like broken bones or bad cuts. The water can carry pollution and bacteria from the sewers and the dumps. It can carry these things in to your home, gather up in your carpets, your basements, and other parts of your home.

A couple of inches of it can pull someone down the river of flooded water, and 20 or more inches can lift up a vehicle and cause it to float on top of the water.
