Dead Leaves And Tree Branches Can Be Used To Fuel A Fire At Your House

By:

Not everyone loves to do yard maintenance as much as others, although there is usually always something that needs to be done. Some homeowners will take the easy way out and have regular landscapers to come in and take care of any outdoor yard work for them while some homeowners much prefer to do it themselves. Whatever your personal preference, as long as proper maintenance is done you lawn and plants will look great.

Spring is enjoyable to look at because all of the trees and flowers bloom. The grass begins to grow and turn green again. The weather is usually mildly warm and makes it more enjoyable to work outside because it is not too cold or too hot. Later when the sun heats things up a lot is when some people find yard work a little less enjoyable. If you are susceptible to too much heat because of your age or other reason, hiring someone to mow the lawn and others things might not be a bad idea. Working in the cool of the morning or evening is best for everyone.

When you have a fire place that you use in the fall and winter, it is imperative that your immediate yard be clear of the dry and brittle tree debris surrounding the house. Even chimney caps can not prevent all sparks from flying up the chimney and escaping. You know the danger that dead leaves can be when a fireplace is in use.

Make sure when all of the leaves begin falling that they are raked up from the yard and cleared off of the rooftop and gutters. This is where many fires can start in the winter. People might not realize that small animals have made nests in their chimney and gutters in previous months. This is why chimney and gutter inspection are so necessary before you begin using your fireplace.

Clean up tree debris and make a compost pile if you have room for one and it will make good mulch come springtime. Keep a look out for dead tree branches that could fall on your roof because of winds or ice storms in the winter. These can also catch on fire from chimney sparks. Fireplaces have been used for more years than we can remember and they are safe s long as you make sure they are well maintained and proper precautions are taken inside and outside of the house.
