Date-Out

How do you manage projects, crisis, and special events in your life? Do you procrastinate and jump through hoops at the last minute, succumbing to stress? Do you prepare far in advance only to lose your notes, presentation, or forget the information and have to
re-prepare? Do you forget to take care of yourself, while you run the crisis, big project, or special event "marathon", and end up sick, overwhelmed or exhausted, while everything else in your life falls apart? If you answered yes to even one of these questions, sometimes, then read forward. This is for you.

The answer to the woes of projects, crisis and event management is simple, (aren"t they always!), remember to take good care of yourself at every turn of the way. How do you know you are taking really good care of yourself? It is when you say to yourself, without prompting, "I feel really well taken care of." See, simple! Or is it really? The next step is to define what would help you to feel really well taken care of while going forward in the above-mentioned situations.

Steps to feeling really well taken care of:
"Eliminate stress (not just reduce).
"Design and educate your family and environment to be and do what is best for you.
"Add pleasure to your life.
"Take physical and emotional wellness steps.
"Add special care items to your life.
"Get support from experts.
"Monitor your ingestion.
"Maintain your appearance.
"Make sustainable efforts.
"Have and maintain daily self-care rituals.

Once your self-care is established, or at least acknowledged, it is time to tackle these big-ticket life happenings. This is simple, also, or at least simply stated. Here are the steps:
"Identify the period given to accomplish the task or resolve the crisis.
"Identify the resources you have to allocate (people, time, money, etc.)
"Identify the strengths of the resources you have to allocate.
"Identify steps to resolution.
" Work backward from targeted date using a calendar to allocate reasonable time plus a buffer zone.
"Write down you plan and work it.
Benefits to using management plan:
"Feeling wonderful while maintaining high energy.
"Owning your projects.
"Lack of wasted time.
"Appropriate allocation of resources.

See, wasn"t that simple? The key to managing projects, crisis, and special events is planning and living with intention, while taking care of your most precious (and precious to those who count on you) commodity, you.

Warmly,
Margaret
