Daniel's 70th Week And Revelation Times

Daniel's 70th Week And Revelation Times

By:

Daniels 70th Week is another phrase for describing the end times as written in Revelations, the last book of the Bible. Revelations lays out the events of God's final judgment on the earth and the destruction of evil.

Most of the book is a retelling of the visions a man named John received from an angel.

The Lamb breaks seven seals open which begins the destruction of the earth. The first through fourth seals cause horsemen to come bringing war, famine, and death. Those who were killed in the name of God ask Him when their deaths will be avenged when the fifth seal is opened. The sixth seal causes the earth to quake and plunges the earth in darkness. The seventh seal calls forth angels with seven trumpets.

12,000 people from each of the 12 tribes of Israel are "sealed" and spared the agony of the destruction. The followers of the Lamb who have come out of the tribulation are described as a multitude in white robes, and it is promised that their suffering is over.

The blowing of the six trumpets destroy a third of land, sky, and seas. The earth is beset by locusts and an army that destroys a third of the people on the planet. The seventh trumpet is followed by the opening of God's temple in heaven.

A woman clothed with the sun, moon and stars bears a male child who is to rule the nation. Her children are those who follow the Lamb. Satan, as a dragon, tries to destroy her and her child but she is protected by God. Meanwhile, a war among the angels in heaven results in Satan and his angels to fall from heaven and go to the earth.

The dragon calls forth a seven-headed beast from the sea and the people of earth worship them. Another beast who looks like the lamb appears from the earth and deceives many people. He requires a mark to be placed on anyone who wishes to buy, sell, or do business.

Angels pour down God's wrath on the earth in 7 bowls with 7 plagues. Babylon the Great, or the great harlot, is destroyed permanently. The devil is bound for 1000 years and then thrown into a lake of burning sulfur. The dead are judged, and those without their names written in the book of life are doomed.

After the second comingof the Lord, a new earth and heaven replace the old. The New Jerusalem, the Holy City, comes down from heaven shining like a jewel. The foundations of the city are made of precious stones and the gates made of pearls. The streets are pure gold. There is no temple in the city because God dwells with man.
