Dance With The Stars

By:

I am not talking about dancing along Hollywood boulevard's, star studded golden mile. Nor about attending an celebrity bash. What I am referring to are the stars that shine within each of us, and the gem encrusted jewels that reward our endeavors: enhance our charisma and beauty and adorn our body, as the stars adorn the celestial. night

Can you remember the first time you ever looked up into the sky? Probably not! What I can remember all those years ago, is the amazement I felt, when I gazed upon the beautiful sparks of glittering light that filled the sky.

Over time I came to learn, as we all probably have, that the stars are not tiny at all, but are actually colossal orbs of heavenly fire. The Sun, our own private star, is so big that the earth could fit within it one million and three hundred thousand times (1,300,000). And the sun is tiny in comparison to the other stars in the galactic family.

Science has long sought to answer the questions that I entertained as a child. Even though much has been learned over the last couple hundred years, the mystery of the stars and the heavens itself, can never completely be explained.

Stars are not born equal, some sparkle vibrant red, others sapphire blue, and others again yellow or white. The stars are in fact characterized by a stellar classification system that relies on studying the spectrum of color that is both emitted and absorbed by stars. In simple terms, the color of a stars spectrum tells us about its properties.
A analogical relation exists between the stars of heaven and the precious gems of the Earth. Gemstones can be thought of as earth born stars. Like their heavenly counterparts their color results from their elemental composition.

Few people realise that Ruby and Sapphire are actually the same. They are both specimens of corundum which is colorless. The different colors derive from minute traces of other minerals. The only reason that a Ruby, is a Ruby, is because it is red, if it were any other color it would be considered a Sapphire. The red of a Ruby is due to microscopic traces of chromium and of the blue in Sapphires is from traces of iron and titanium.

Color has sense the earliest of times been seen as a symbol. We respond to music in obvious ways, when when it is soft we relax ab=nd slow down contrasted by rock and roll which gets us to move and grove. Color also has a direct influence on our emotions yet one that is less obvious. Our understanding of the world of color is growing and today, it is even being used therapeutically.
