Cystitis An Infectious Disease

Symptoms of the infection are same as urinary tract infection and bladder infection because they are interrelated to each other. There is very frequent urination along with burning sensation. During the later stages of cystitis, blood also comes while urinating. It also creates a lot of soreness and irritation around the vagina. Females with shorter Urethra are the most common victims to this disease, since it can spread around rapidly in their body.

The treatment includes the antibiotics which include penicillin, ampicillin, and amoxicillin, etc, lot of liquid intake which can flush out the toxic material from the body. Using perfumed soaps or such items can cause severe problems. Therefore, any perfumed items must be avoided to keep healthy. Untreated cystitis can lead to scarring and the formation of stones. Whenever any of the symptoms are seen, one must rush to the doctor for the check up because at the later stage these infections can be very dangerous and life threatening as well.

Another thing which should be kept in mind during treatment is that sometimes the bacteria causing the infection are resistant to the antibiotics prescribed by the doctors. Once you realize that there is not much improvement, and then you must ask your doctor to change the dose of the medicines.

The frequency of the infection completely varies amongst the individuals of different age and the sex. This is very common between the females of every age group but generally seen between 20-50. However, this is quite uncommon in men especially at the young age. These bacterial infections can be very bad for the kidney and prostate gland in men and eventually leading to tumor which blocks the passage of urine. Infection in men is mostly caused by the bacteria named E Coli. It's a gram-negative bacterium.

In case the infection has become very complicated, the only method then left to cure it besides the medicines is surgery.

Hence, one really needs to be careful at dealing with Cystitis.
