Cyprus - Why Go To The Usual Resorts?

When deciding on Cyprus for a holiday, most visitors go for the larger and more famous resorts on the south and west coast of the country. However, But there is a much less-frequented area, with one of the best beaches in Cyprus, located only a half-hour drive away from Paphos airport. This is Coral Bay: attractive and accessible, and yet lost to the mainstream UK holiday company and not on the list of the usual resorts.

For those on a package without transfers, or for those creating their own holiday plan, an airport link bus makes it cheap and straightforward to reach Coral Bay. The drive is north of busy Paphos and it goes through local vineyards and banana plantations, a rural and low-key landscape which sets the tone for Coral Bay's less frenetic lifestyle.

Coral Bay's beach is an attractive horseshoe shape, located in the bay and enjoys the shelter from two headlands. Many consider this beach to be the best on Cyprus. The soft sand slopes gently to the sea edge, which makes it ideal for children and non-swimmers.

A big feature of Coral Bay is indeed its safe bathing and swimming. This makes a holiday here very suitable for families, and for folk who have said goodbye to loud music and clubbing as a holiday essential.

With this, the hotel provides a number of rooms, some of which are inter-connecting, for family groups of two adults and up to three children on an all-inclusive arrangement. The beach has European Blue Flag status for its facilities, the quality and cleanliness of its water. Lifguards are on hand in season, and there are water sports facilities available including wind-surfing and sailing.

What is more, Coral Bay is an ideal base to explore the rest of Cyprus. There are plenty of attractions and activities nearby, all of which can be reached using a regular bus service.

As well as offering rest and relaxation the beach, there are also some very fine quality spa hotels. Coral Bay also has a great choice of restaurants and local shops making it an attractive option for those who prefer self-catering or an independent villa holiday.
