Cycling Workouts That Can Whip You To Shape

Cycling is one of the better ways to exercise because it's so beneficial for your health, and the potential risk is very limited. It really tones the muscles in your body, particularly your legs. Cycling really gets your heart rate up into its target range, which burns a ton of fat and calories. All this while sitting down and riding a bike, as opposed to running on a treadmill or pavement outdoors. The following is an introduction to cycling workouts.

Spinning classes are very popular, and some of the top fitness trainers are teaching cycling to their clients. For this reason, you are likely to find multiple exercise bikes in just about any gym that you visit, despite the fact that they have been around for so long.

Cycling workouts can really work your entire body in a very short period of time. The focus however is primarily on the legs and glutes. The upper body does get a workout, especially if you cycle for long periods of time, just by pumping the handlebars and holding good form. Because cycling burns so much fat, your arms will get more definition.
Cycling workouts build stamina and really increase the strength of your heart and lungs. It's also a low impact activity, as opposed to jogging or running, as it places very little stress on the knees and joints. Over the long run, your lower body will be much healthier than running on pavement for years.

Many may not think of the core being worked while going through cycling workouts, but it does. Strong core muscles are necessary in order to have the right cycling form, and have complete control over the bike. And of course, fat will be burned off this area, giving you more defined abs. After a bike ride, you will feel as if you had just done a ton of crunches and exercises.

The glutes also get a good workout primarily if you ride in a tucked position, this inspite of the fact that you are sitting the entire time. This is due to the fact that you're legs are constantly moving, so it will work your glutes without you probably even realizing it. However, over time you will begin to see the results.

While a cycling workout can work muscles all over your body and burn a lot of fat, it's important to do it the right way. Trying to do it your way to increase the intensity could result in injury instead of toned muscles.
