Cut Out The Useless Calories To Lose Weight

By:

You seldom hear about people who lost weight while eating whatever they wanted to eat. To think it is possible for a person to eat what they wish and still lose weight, it not a realistic way to look at weight loss.

Following a low calorie diet plan is the time tested way of achieving weight loss. Some foods that you currently enjoy should be evicted from your kitchen.

These foods you have an emotional attachment to are hard to give up, but you do have a choice. Would you like to continue consuming fatty foods or have a great body? You cannot have both. It is necessary for you to choose.

If you want to have a great body, now is the time to change your dietary habits and start a low calorie diet plan. Most people know they should eat lean proteins, green vegetables, and whole grains. However, there are many foods to avoid. It is just as essential to avoid these foods as it is to eat the good ones.

1) Margarine, which should not even really be considered a food, but it is consumed frequently. Not only does it contain mostly fat, it is very calorie packed, containing 100 calories in a single tablespoon. It is high in trans fat, which is quite possibly the absolute worst substance you can put in your body. Skip margarine while on your low calorie diet plan.

2) French fries are eaten with almost every restaurant meal, and they contain an unhealthy amount of saturated fat, trans fats, and way too much sodium. Rather than eating fries as a side, eat a salad, or some fresh fruit. Eating almost anything else would be better for you, but this is not an excuse to eat mozzarella sticks.

3) Processed cheese is another product that cannot really be considered food. It is called cheese product for a reason. Keep natural, nonfat or low fat cheese in your refrigerator. Leave the Kraft singles at the store.

4) Whole milk contains entirely too much fat. There is quite a difference between the fat calories contained in whole milk and the amount contained in skim milk. Milk is a good source of protein. Concentrate on drinking skim milk, drinking one percent only on occasion.

5) Pizza is a favorite of almost everyone. However, eating just one slice will have you consuming up to 400 calories, and half a day worth of saturated fat. Most people eat three or four slices at a sitting. This practice will not help a person trying to maintain a diet.

6) Alcohol needs to be limited, if not eliminated entirely. You can eat properly all week, and destroy your progress with six or seven beers. After all of that success, you will have drunk 600-900 calories. Half a day worth of calories, used on beer. Alcohol lacks nutritional value, and causes people to make poor decisions. Your low calorie diet plan will not be helped by consuming alcohol.

7) Soda is terrible for you. The average American drinks nearly 56 gallons of soda per year. A can of soda has 153 calories. Drink a few and the calories add up quick. If you have to drink soda, chose a diet variety. It is not the best, but a much better choice.

8) Commercial peanut butter is a problem. It contains high fructose corn syrup and hydrogenated oils. There should be one ingredient in peanut butter, peanuts. There should be no sugar, corn syrup, or even salt in your peanut butter. Eat only all natural peanut butter. It is the way to go for your low calorie diet plan.
