In the 90s, if a male had a curtain hair style, he was instantly keeping up with the height of fashion. Popstar and all round sweet heart Ben Adams is very well known for the curtains style. With his jet-black locks Ben kept the look slick and slightly over-gelled with a middle parting and shorter strands, reaching the middle of the ears all around the head. In a similar style, actor Jonny Depp also sported the style, with a chocolate brown colour teamed with round, tinted glasses to finish the look.
As mentioned, the style was made famous by footballer David Beckham when he was a mere striker. Beckham was seen with curtains for a long time, which saw different types of the style sported. Coming on to the scene with a naturally sun-kissed blonde barnet, Beckham kept it individualised with different layers. The centre-parting stayed the same, but the rest of the hair flopped neatyl around the eyes and back of the head. David then kept the rest of the hair neat and cut into the nape of the neck at the back.
As David Beckham became more of a name, his style became more, well, styled to keep up with the ever-changing fashion fads. He kept the cut and layers the same with the middle parting consistent, but he donned some more gel to keep each strand perfectly in place. This also made the colour appear slightly darker. As Beckham was growing out of curtains, it was clear that he wasnt happy leaving the look behind. He then created variations of the look such as a very cropped deviation to the style, with the top much blonder than the chocolate coloured back. Future changes to the look then saw the introduction of the male-alice band, a shaggy-chic style, and eventually the chop. Either way, Beckham always looked great and was a headliner in male hairstyles!
