Credit Score Disputes

By: globalbpo1

There are various ways through which the disputes on credit scores can be handled. One of the easiest ways out is through inquiries. When debtors are applying for lender checks or the credit the creditor checks they can verify their credit reports. With the help of this verification debtors are aware if they qualify for the credit or loan that they have applied for. This inquiry is then put forward to the credit bureaus and also reflects on the credit report.

Does inquiring reflect on the credit reports?

Inquiry does reflect on the credit report. Even though only some points are deducted from the credit score after one inquiry, multiple inquiries can lead to the credit score falling much more. At times it can also result in higher rates of interest. But too many inquiries can result in not getting qualified for the line of credit or the loan and hence it should be restricted. But requesting for the credit report does no lead to any inquiries and should be done once a month to keep a track of your credit.

Disputes regarding inquiries

If there is a dispute, where the debtor did not dispute the inquiry, but it was added to the credit report, then debtors should dispute the bureaus. For this the credit report should be obtained and copies for the same should also be made. Once this is done the points of dispute like the inquiry should be highlighted. After this is done, the copy for the same should be sent to the bureau, along with a letter, demanding explanation for the inquiries added to the report and correcting the same. This effort is worth it because the credit scores, affected by the inquiries, can be corrected and improved.

Disputes due to failure of updating reports

Often, after paying the bills, debtors do not see a change in the bureau report. This happens because the bureaus do not update the credit reports every day and have a certain procedure for it. The best way of checking the same is through online means. Online bureau reports are often more regularly updated as compared to ones sent through mails. Also checking these, before applying for loans or after making payments, helps to avoid these manual errors. A letter regarding the same can be sent to the bureau so that latest changes are made an updated on the report.
