Credit Counseling or Debt Settlement
Credit Counseling or Debt Settlement Which is Better?
National Debt Counseling has been in business since 1997 assisting clients with Debt Settlement and Credit Counseling. Our focus is to counsel our clients and come up with a plan that, in many cases, allows them to eventually become debt free. As a Non-Profit Organization, our first plan of attach is a simple counseling session that allows us to determine if
Credit Counseling is a better option or if
Debt Settlement is a better option.

As a general rule, credit counseling is the option that will be explored first, along with taking a long look at the household budget, but as all situations are different, the following scenarios should be a basic starting point in exploring your two options. These are some of the parameters we explore when helping them to decide:
Credit Counseling
- Accounts still current, but may be past due soon
- Just barely making minimum payments
- No Late Payments or Some Late Payments
- Temporary Financial Set Back
- Interest rates getting higher and higher
- Receiving Collection Calls or Collection Notices
- Accounts sent to Collections Department
- Barely Getting By
- Starting to Get Stressed Out
Debt Settlement
- Accounts Past Due
- Unable to Make Minimum Payments
- Many Late Payments
- Major Financial Set Back
- Receiving Collection Calls or Collection Notices
- Accounts Sent to Collection Agencies
- Definitely Not Getting By
- Very Stressed Out
