Creating Personalized Birthday Photo Books

By:

If you haven't seen or made photo books in the last couple of years, and I'm speaking of online and in the manner I'll try to describe in this article, then you are in for a real pleasant surprise. They are so superior to the old photo albums that we were accustomed to seeing as we grew up that you really cannot compare the two. They could both contain the same pictures, but that's the end of their similarity. It's like trying to compare a JC Penney handbag to a Louis Vuitton bag. They could both hold the same dollar bills, but that's where the similarity would end.

By you reading this article maybe you're fully aware of what I'm talking about and you just have interest in making a birthday photo book, which is great. There really are no limits in what you can build today's photo books around, but birthdays is a great subject. Among the many potential choices, birthdays ranks right up there with baby photo books, and when you've got in mind making one from a baby's or children's birthday, it's about as good as it gets. Nothing against adults, but would you rather look at a photo book filled with pictures of adults, or one filled with pictures of babies or children? I think I know the answer.

Regardless of whether the subject is going to be adults, babies, children, or teenagers, birthday photo books can be great, particularly if you go about it right. You may find the following few tips helpful.

1. Make sure that every adult (or married couple) attending the party brings a camera, and knows that they are expected to take lots of pictures, at least 10-20 each. That's not too much to distract in any way from their enjoyment of the party, but it helps make sure that you get an ample number of good ones to draw from.

2. Be sure to write down a list of pictures that you want to take, such as the birthday boy or girl with their parents, grandparents, blowing out the candles, and any others that come to mind. Otherwise, the party will be over and everyone gone before you realize that you forgot to get a certain picture that you really wanted. This is important if you want a really great photo book.

3. Remind everyone to make notes of any captions that may go well with certain pictures, while the details of the pictures are fresh in their mind.

4. Take lots of candid shots. Some of those will be the best ones.

5. Choose a good Internet based card and photo book company to work with. There are several good ones, but you want to be sure to pick one that has the latest technology, as well as some unique book templates for placing and being able to manipulate your pictures in.

Birthday photo books are really a lot of fun to make. If this is your first, you will be amazed when you see them. With a really nice hard bound linen cover (and your title on it in an elegant font), filled with pictures of your loved ones and friends imprinted on high gloss slick pages with interesting captions to go with them, it will look like a very expensive book that you bought at a local book store. It will just be a lot more endearing to read as the years go by.
