Google Chrome is one of the best web browsers available today. This is the second most popular browser next to Firefox Mozilla. The browser incorporates plenty of stunning features and due to this reason more and more people are now becoming fond of this browser. It allows the user to create separate profiles for more privacy. If there is only one computer at your home and all family members use it, then there should be separate profiles in Google Chrome for better privacy. This article tells you how you can create separate profiles. Computer repair services companies also offer help to perform this task.

Wondering why you need separate profiles in Google Chrome? It is very easy to access your web search history as well as the search queries that you may have typed in the past in Google Chrome. If someone else uses the same user account and Chrome browser, then the person could easily find all your past interactions once he/she begins to type in the address bar. You definitely dont want to show others which websites you have explored or what you have typed. This is important not only for your Internet privacy but also for security.

So, in order to protect your Internet privacy, you should create a separate user profile in Google Chrome. If it is done, all your browser history, search terms, bookmarks, cookies, etc. will remain private. Lets take a look at how to Create Profiles in Google Chrome Browser. Firefox integrates a Profile Manager, but in Google Chrome browser you need to create several profiles manually.

First you need to load Chrome and choose "Clear Browsing History" from the Tools menu. All your private data will be removed. Now you have to open Google Chrome installation folder. If you are using Windows Vista go to C:\Users\\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome to access the installation folder. For the Windows XP users the folder is located in C:\Documents and Settings\\Local Settings\Application Data\Google\Chrome.

Now open Windows Explorer and switch to the "User Data" folder. This folder is available inside Chrome installation folder. Next, you need to select the subfolder called "default" and make a copy of this folder in the "User Data" folder. You can give it any name of your choice. For instance, here the name is Test. Now we will initialize this new profile to the factory default settings. Lets check how to do this.

Open "Command Prompt", and type chrome.exe --user-data-dir="..\User Data\Test" -first-run. The new user profile is now ready. You can create a shortcut on your preferred location in order to run it instantly. Assign a different name to this shortcut and change the icon so that anyone can not guess what exactly it is. Now using this shortcut you can browse whatever site you want to explore and others will not be know this.
