Could This Be The Most Important Question Of Your Life?

By:

Two thousand years ago, in the region of Caesarea Philippi, twelve ordinary men were enjoying the challenging adventure of following the God Man.

There was trouble ahead. Jesus knew the hearts of men; He also knew where He came from and where He was going. The time seemed appropriate to ask a very important question. The right answer to this question would establish the foundation of a world changing movement and shape the minds of billions to come so He asked:

Who do men say that I, the Son of Man, am? So they said, Some say John the Baptist, some Elijah, and others Jeremiah or one of the prophets. Then He said to them, But who do you say that I am? ~ Mt. 16:13-20

Peter, always ready to speak, scored big time on that occasion and said You are the Christ the son of the living God. And Oh my! What a promise he received! Now, I do not intent to focus on Peters response here. My purpose is only to highlight the question

Who do you say that I am?

Who is He? What is He like? How does He feel most of the time? Is He mostly sad or mostly happy? How does He feel toward you right now? Is He frustrated and grieved when He thinks of you or is He smiling? The way you are answering to this is shaping your life.

What is your paradigm of Jesus? A paradigm is like a pair of lenses we use to filter the world and process informationpresent, past and future information. Paradigms are mindsets. Mindsets are ideas. Ideas determine the way we think, feel and act.

Our paradigm of God is the most relevant thing in our lives. Because the way we think of Him affects how we feel and everything we are and do.

As we approach the end of the age, a paradigm-shift will take place in the minds of the redeemed. The way we perceive the personality of God and how we think He perceives us will change.

On my previous post I mentioned that, as we approach the end of the age, a paradigm-shift will take place in the minds of the redeemed. The way we perceive the personality of God and how we think He perceives us will change.

What is your paradigm of God? A paradigm is like a pair of lenses we use to filter the world and process information. Paradigms are mindsets. Mindsets are ideas. Ideas determine the way we think, feel and act.

Our idea of God is the most relevant thing in our lives. Because the way we think of Him affects how we feel and everything we are and do.

I will allure her, will bring her into the wilderness, and speak comfort to her . . . and it shall be, in that day, says the Lord, that you will call Me My Husband, and no longer call Me My Master Hos. 2:14-16

On present times, God is mostly perceived as a taskmaster, somehow good but demanding and unfair at the core. Even believers often view Him as a Supreme Boss who only seeks to get the job done. Others see Him as highly irritable (cold, distant and short-tempered), ready to punish every imperfection.

This perspective of God is wrong. It is a distorted and harmful view that keeps the souls of men in bondage.

Satan knows this well he has worked over time to endorse and upgrade those lies in peoples minds. Our enemy is the ultimate accuser he is always accusing Gods personality to our hearts. But God has a plan. Darkness cannot remain when the light of His countenance shines.

The Holy Spirit is unveiling and revealing the knowledge of God to our generation in unprecedented ways. What Hosea predicted will take place: In that day, says the Lord, you will call Me My Husband, and no longer call Me My Master.

Consider the magnitude of the statement. No longer will the Lord be seen as a cold taskmaster but as a tender and loving husband. (Of course, this is not the only interpretation of that verse; the Hebrew for my master is Baali, which deals with Israels addiction to spiritual harlotry).

My focus here is: Hosea saw a future generation having a paradigm shift and calling God My Husband. This future generation would abandon lesser lovers and fully embrace their identity as the Bride of Christ.

We are that generationthe Bridegroom Generation.
