Could There Possibly Be 'home Remedies For Acne Scars'?

By:

If you are afflicted with acne scars, or concerned about pimples, and blackheads - Please be assured that there is some basic information and home remedies that potentially can help you.

First, let's look at the whole picture of acne scars - and what they can mean to you, or yours.

They can be a socially stifling experience - and I speak from personal experience. I have had the specter of acne scars all of my life from age 10. I don't remember ever looking in the mirror and seeing a reflection of clear skin.

And, I am pretty normal - or so I think! (Some would argue that point)

When I was being treated, the doctor actually asked if he could show pictures of me to his other patients - so they would feel better by comparison.

This man was not a giant of compassion - for he had no conception of what that did to my spirits. Well, a pox oh him - (I hope his hair fell out at an early age) but perhaps it did help his other patients.

I would not have awarded him a trophy for tact and diplomacy.

At any rate - I survived, and so can you!

You know, scars are funny things. Many years ago, a scar which was the result of a duel (OK , this was a lot of years ago) was a badge of honor. And yet, the identical scar on a person from some inglorious reason, was something to be dreaded.

So, it comes right down to our own mental image of ourselves. Scars can actually toughen you up - (Not the easiest way to toughen up) but it really can do that. If you have some acne scars, and your personality is otherwise buoyant and positive - guess what happens to those scars?

They kind of fade into significance. Hard to believe - but remember you are reading this from an experienced 'scarred person', so you can believe me.

Now, if you want to use some home remedies for this condition, here are a few that are reported to work:

** Lemon Juice -

(I know it sounds a little weird), but squeeze some juice from lemons or limes - and apply it with a cotton ball - and leave it on for 10-15 minutes. After you rinse it off - see if that doesn't help.

** Tomato

(This sounds even weirder, but it does have reasons why it works). Put slices of tomato right on the scars. This actually promotes healing because the tomatoes are rich in Vitamin A, and antioxidants.

** Olive Oil

- my personal favorite (I am Italian). Just moisturize you skin by massaging olive oil on those scars. Do not add sausage or pepperoni - unless you really want to create attention. And, don't go into a pizza parlor right after you do this!

** Ice

- Not quite as exotic, but try rubbing an ice cube on the scars. This can soothe the irritated skin, tighten your pores, and give the skin a more even texture.

Well, there you have some good acne scar treatment suggestions. Now, if you try those kooky ideas above, and they work for you (actually they should) let me know.

If they don't work (again they should) to your satisfaction - don't disregard the fact that thousands of scientists have come up with good reliable acne remedies for both acne treatment and acne scars. Actually, it is kind of silly not to avail yourself of acne remedies that actually work pretty darn well.

One last thought: Don't let acne scars rule your life. They are a pain in the neck - but you are you - scars don't dictate your emotions (What do they know) -

You dictate your emotions.

Every smile diminishes those scars a little.
