Could A Loan Modification Program Save Your Home?

By:

So, you have found yourself in default on your home mortgage with Chase Bank? It could be that foreclosure is just around the corner because your payments have become almost impossible to make each month. A Chase Mortgage Modification could be the answer to your dilemma, allowing you to avoid foreclosure.

The loss mitigation counselors with Chase do not want to foreclose on your home; foreclosure is an expensive and time-consuming scenario for a lender, too. This is especially so in a downwardly moving economy. Chase is usually much more receptive to a loan modification than you might think, if it allows them to cut their losses.

The Obama Administration's Making Home Affordable Plan, which is in effect until December 31, 2012, has made it more advantageous than ever for Chase to rework a mortgage. They receive a $1000 incentive from the government for each existing mortgage that they modify to achieve a lower house payment. They are required to forgive all fees and penalties, too, when they redo these mortgages.

If you don't qualify for a MHA loan modification, that does not mean that you still cannot rework your mortgage to save your home. Loan modification is not a new thing, but banks have been doing it for a long time. There is a possibility that Chase can work with you through their own hardship programs to restructure your mortgage payments to avoid foreclosure.

Financial Hardship is a main component of the application process. Has something happened beyond your control that has rendered you unable to make your house payment in a timely manner? And, are you stable enough to make a reduced payment in the future? You could very well qualify for a Chase Mortgage Modification. You should at least find out, and possibly you can save your home.
