Costa Rica Is The Perfect Destination For Eco-tourists

By:

I've been working many years as a travel agent specializing in Costa Rica. As a result, now I pretty much know everything about this small yet unique country. That's why I dare to say that the country is now on the forefront of "World Ecotourism".

If you ask me to find out special places out there, I would certainly recommend some unique ecotourism sites for the nature lovers. I would also highly recommend them to every ecotourist. Here are some:

1. Tortuguero Canals: The place is great and beautiful, filled with wildlife. If you want to stay here I would recommend Mawamba lodge. This is a unique place is on the Caribbean (Atlantic) side of Costa Rica.

2. Poas Volcano National Park: This place is situated approximately 15 miles north of Alajuela in the "central valley". Poas Volcano is inactive at the moment. However, you can enjoy the beautiful view. It has a very large and beautiful geyser. If you look down on it, you can see a large blue-green gurgling pool of hot steam.

3. Doka Plantation Four Generations Coffee Tour: You can see the place and learn a lot about coffee. You can also taste the different varieties of coffee here, and of course, they give you some of it as a souvenir! You can see how it is handpicked, processed and packaged according to quality levels before it is exported. So if you are in the Poas Volcano area why don't you drive just five miles outside of Alajuela for a must see site?

4. Arenal Volcano National Park and Arenal Lake: This place can be called one of the best attractions in the world and is a touristic magnet due to its wonderful wildlife, hot springs and beautiful lake that offer endless day trip options.

5. Rincon de la Vieja National Park: It is situated in south western Pacific and is one of the most remote national parks in Costa Rica. One of the best places an ecotourist can visit!

6. Corcovado National Park and Cano Island: This place can be called one of the best places you can find in all Central America, famous for its rich wildlife and birds. You can take a boat ride from the side-places to Cano Island. With beautiful long stretches of unspoiled beaches to stroll upon, it is a day trip from the mainland. The place is uninhabited and you will find very attractive scenery. On the other hand Corcovado National Park is actually a primary rain forest and has a lot of unusual trees. I would recommend you to visit the park with a guide because if you are alone, you might easily get lost.
