By:

The COSTA DEL SOL HOLIDAY RENTALS is well known for those long stretches of white sand washed over by crystal blue waters of the Mediterranean Sea, guaranteed for its formidable charming and idyllic beaches. Local governments have put in some fantastic efforts to change the entire area with natural landscapes. Holidaymakers will find that as soon as the sombre celebrations of Easter are over and the weather starts to improve as the summer approaches, April starts and celebrations of the Feria de Abril commence. This includes bullfights, flamenco dancing and numerous other cultural events that often include drinking and eating, especially local cuisine. The Plaza de la Alfalfa seems to be the top spot for Seville many tapas bars. Fried fish in olive oil is probably the top local speciality.

The best way to arrive in the Costa del Sol is to take a flight to Malaga, which is considered an important port that has thoroughly transformed itself. Many of Malaga's shopping centres have been replaced by pedestrianised malls with cafes and sculptures and one tourist haunt that is always popular is the Picasso Museum that showcases hundreds of his works.

Before heading into Malaga or Seville spend a few days catching sun rays on the beach. Costa del Sol translates as the sunshine coast and is so popular with the British visitor that it has inspired many films and television shows. Marbella has always been a favourite haunt for the rich and famous but now its become a popular resort for the not so wealthy. Still its a hot spot for many well named boutiques, a town where every elite car known is probably parked here somewhere. Although at the same time, Andalucia has not lost its Spanish roots and traditions especially when moving away from the touristy areas of Marbella and Torremolinos where the most popular hotels are based.

Easter is the best month for those in Malaga and Seville especially for the Semana Santa (Holy Week) celebrations as they are among the biggest in Spain. The regions two largest towns certainly know how to celebrate them, with enormous floats depicting scenes from the Passion carried through the streets. Some are carried by up to 50 men while others march alongside in costumes and pointy hats, flooding the streets with the dim glow of thousands of candles.

COSTA DEL SOL HOLIDAY RENTALS on Spain's south coast are extremely popular during the Easter months as schools break up for the holidays, giving family's the opportunity to get away for their first holiday of the year.
