Costa Cruises has announced that it will be reinforcing its presence in the United Arab Emirates from this winter onwards with the deployment of the companys newest vessel, the luxurious Costa Favolosa.

The President of Costa Cruises, Giovanni Onorato, announced the news at the opening session of the Seatrade Middle East Cruise Convention in Dubai recently.

From 16th December, 2011 until 6th April, 2012, travellers will be able to enjoy Dubai holidays aboard the Costa Favolosa as it sails along the exotic seas of the Arabian Gulf. The cruise will be named "Costa Cruise Jewel of the Emirates" and the ship will first stop off at Dubai, followed by Muscat in Oman, Fujairah, Abu Dhabi, Khasab in Oman, and finishing off with a further overnight stay in Dubai.

Mr Onorato said: "The Costa Favolosa will be the largest and most advanced ship ever deployed in the region.

"She will offer our guests the truly unique opportunity to visit the most intriguing destinations in the UAE and Oman on board an Italian cruise ship providing superb comfort, exclusive services and state-of-the-art hi-tech entertainment: suites and cabins with private balconies, the Samsara Spa, spacious lidos, plus golf and Grand Prix simulators. There'll be fun for all the family with the Favolosa's Aqua Park water playground, 4D cinema and PlayStation World."

Throughout the winter 2011/2012 season, the Costa Favolosa will make 58 port calls in the United Arab Emirates and is expected to provide cruise holidays to the Middle East for up to 233,000 passengers.
