Corrosion Resistant Coatings Are Useful In A Variety Of Industries

By:

When it comes to properly caring for expensive and high-production equipment, applying corrosion resistant coatings to their exterior give industries the added bonus of prolonging the life span of each piece of equipment they use for product production. Applying corrosion resistant coatings saves time and money moving forward. The coatings may extend the life span of each piece of equipment, which cuts down on the need to purchase more; which can be a costly venture for small businesses and large corporations.

Industries that benefit from using corrosion resistant coatings are:

*Rubber and Plastic
*Nuclear
*Automotive
*Food Processing
*OEM Machine Tooling
*Bearing

These industries utilize coatings to ensure they are able to produce the best possible product or good for their customers. Various industries will use wear coatings and or dry lubricants that are able to solve industry specific problems that save time and money. Use of a chromium coating can potentially reduce various problems/issues that arise when combating severe forms of corrosion. A chromium coating will increase equipment efficiency and reduce costs associated with upkeep and maintenance of equipment.

Anti-corrosion and wear resistant coatings are use to protect and seal plastic and metal equipment, especially when the corrosion is severe. If nuclear, automotive, food processing, OEM machine tooling and bearing companies utilize equipment comprised of alloy steels those processes are more likely to produce an exponential amount of heat. Using alloy steel generally produces more heat than any other process. By applying a coating to equipment, the life expectancy of the equipment can be prolonged as the coating combats the negative effects heating and cooling have on equipment. Vast differences in temperature cycle, i.e. a range of fluctuation, will damage equipment over a period of time.

Industries such as nuclear, automotive, food processing and OEM machine tooling may utilize metal plating and stamping. When performing these types of processes on machinery it is vital that each machine is properly lubricated. Using a diamond coating can increase lubrication for each machine, especially those used in food processing. Lubricating equipment drastically cuts down on corrosion that can occur.

For industries that wish to use less expensive metals in their machine processes there are other corrosion resistant coatings available. Thin dense chromium coatings will provide adhesion and protection that industries would similarly enjoy if they were to use stainless steel. As stainless steel is an expensive product, applying a coating to a less expensive metal ensure cost effective measure and longevity.
