Corkscrew Lanyards What Exactly Are They

By:

We have all been in the situation where we have just shared out the last of a bottle of wine and have somehow managed to forget where we put the corkscrew, causing some irritation and a lot of head scratching when it comes to opening the next bottle. It is not a situation any of us welcome, that is for sure, and to make matters worse corked wine bottles are one of those things that nothing else will suffice to open. At least with a beer bottle you can use some other household tool to loosen the cap before popping it off some other way. For those of us who have had their problems with corks, though, there is a solution with corkscrew lanyards.

It is a pretty simple idea, when it comes down to it. Heaven knows we have all heard someone; usually ourselves being told that they would forget their head if it wasnn't attached. What hope, then, do those of us of a forgetful streak have when it comes to remembering something that is not even attached? The solution to this is simple when it comes down to it you can attach the item, if it is something as small as a corkscrew. Corkscrew keyrings are already popular, and no Swiss Army Knife is complete without a corkscrew. And when you think about it, corkscrew lanyards have been around for a while. If you have ever had a bottle of wine opened at your table by a waiter, the likelihood is that they have used the corkscrew they carry around with them in most cases attached to a lanyard.

The advantage to a lanyard is that it can pretty much be tied on anywhere. Many people who require security passes for work attach them by means of a lanyard which they wear around their neck. When they get to the front door it is just a matter of serenely swiping the pass in front of a sensor and gliding through. Given the often sharp nature of a corkscrew, however, it may not be wise to hang it around your neck. Keeping it attached to a belt loop is most likely a wiser idea if needs be. Alternatively having a corkscrew hanging off your wrist is likely to serve you well, you cannot possibly forget where something is if it is banging against your hand to remind you it is there.

The key point to all of this is that a corkscrew lanyard does not even have to cost very much money, so having a few at hand in case you lose your main corkscrew we all have one of those, surely? Usually a mechanism that doesn't just remove the cork but disposes of it for you? This is always a safe bet. It allows you to keep the party going without any fear of a missing corkscrew ruining everyone's evening. Buy a few today, put them in kitchen drawers, on coffee tables, and anywhere else you can think of. They will make life a lot easier.
