Cricklewood in North London is situated on a historic site which began life as a settlement in the 1200's. Today Cricklewood boasts plenty of cafe bars and things to do and a mutli-cultural society including Irish, who were amongst the first to develop this cool district of London.

It was the biggest cinema in Europe when it opened before World War 2. A large dome tops the huge auditorium. There is the 103 foot high landmark tower, lit up in neon red at night. The State has hosted The Beatles and Louis Armstrong to name just a couple of many.

Also worth a walk down to Kilburn is the contemporary Tricycle Theatre was founded in 1980, and was refurbished in the same decade after a fire. The Triangle has become one of London's most popular theatres. It houses work-shops, recording studios, and a cafe bar. Its a cool place to be with the arty and cultural.

Cricklewood has its own railway station, and has three local London Underground Stations; Willesden Green, Kilburn, and West Hampstead. If you are travelling by car, then Cricklewood is located on one of the main arterial roads out of London, going North London towards Junction 1 of the M1.

Many famous people have inhabited Cricklewood over the years: Ken Livingstone, the author Zadie Smith, actor Jimmy Nail, Peter O'Toole and Patsy Kensit lives on the Cricklewood borders.
